| Filly | A female horse up to five years of age. |
| Firing | Betting a lot. A player who is "firing" is betting large sums. |
| Fixed-Odds Betting | The type of betting where you get odds quoted at the time of placing the bet and you know what you will win or lose at once. However, fixed odds may be quoted as SP - i.e. starting price, which means you chose to take the price in the open betting market when the race starts. This may be higher or lower than the odds offered at the time of placing the bet - the decision as to which to take being the punter's choice. |

| Fold | When preceded by a number, it indicates the number of selections in an accumulator. |
| Form | A factor used to rate how an individual, horse or team is currently performing or is expected to perform according to how a team looks on paper. |

| Furlong | The distance of all flat races in the British Isles are measured in Furlong. Equates to 220 yards and there are eight furlongs in a mile. |
| Future | US term for Ante Post. |
| Future Bet | Bets accepted well in advance. |
